Statement of Commitment to Child Safety
Dominoes Netball Club is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for all children and young people. We believe in the importance of children’s sport for the growth and wellbeing of our community. Every child has the right to feel safe, supported, respected and protected at all times. Dominoes Netball Club has a ‘zero tolerance’ for child abuse and we are committed to acting in the best interest of children and young people to keep them safe from harm.
To keep children safe from harm, Dominoes Netball Club commits to:
Implementing the 10 Child Safe Standards
Providing a safe and supportive environment for all children
Making sure that children are not exposed to any form of harmful conduct or abuse
Empowering children and young people to participate in decisions that affect them and share their concerns
Making sure children know who to approach if they feel unsafe or have any child safety concerns.
As a child safe organisation we commit to:
Educating everyone involved in our organisation about what it means to be a child safe organisation so that we can prevent, detect and effectively respond to child abuse
Welcoming feedback to continuously improve our child safe policies and procedures
Responding to concerns of child abuse and neglect in a robust, timely and child-focused manner
Ensuring the safety and well-being of particularly vulnerable children and young people, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, culturally and/or linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds, LGTBIQ children and young people, children with disability
